NY-BASED EATS: TAKEOUT/DELIVERY

ArtS and Culture

Connect: Pick something to watch, listen, read, see— do it together or separately and then reflect with one another. You can explore: What moved me? What feelings were evoked? What did this inspire?

  • Book a Virtual Poetry Stream Session with Ayjshane, performer, reader, healer

  • Read a poem by Audre Lorde—”A self-described “Black, lesbian, mother, warrior, poet,” Audre Lorde dedicated both her life and her creative talent to confronting and addressing injustices of racism, sexism, classism, and homophobia.”

  • Go for a Bed Stuy Arts Stroll (socially distanced)— a walking tour curated by Black Owned, a digital Publication

  • Virtually browse the artwork of Tatyana Fazalizadeh—”A Black / Iranian visual artist and Oklahoma City native. She is a painter whose work ranges from the gallery to the streets, using visual art to address the daily oppressive experiences of marginalized people through beautifully drawn and painted portraits.”

WELL-BEING: MEDITATION, YOGA, AND BREATHWORK

Connect: Take a class together (remotely or IRL) and reflect on your experience. What came up in your body? In your heart? What points did you feel most present? Distracted?

Your practice uplifts all of us, so doing this solo is fab too!
